As much as I'd love a Bluetooth connection to my audio system, I will agree that the newest phones seem to be poor performers. I upgraded my Siemens S46 (AT&T's GSM and TDMA networks supported) to the bells and whistles-laden Panasonic GU87 (GSM only), only to find that the phone was barely able to receive or make calls in my office building and in many suburbs around Boston....pathetic. Most of it is the phone, but part of it is the network coverage as well.
Needless to say, I returned it and put the SIM card back in my Siemens phone, which seems much superior and has excellent network range thanks to supporting both networks.
Oh well...I'll wait a few more handset replacement cycles, I think....
