I know in my 02 9-5 aero all you gotta do is take out fuse #35. that's it. In fact, there should be something about this in your instructions. Should be easy to do and if there's a problem, put the fuse back in.
Also, with the lights set to DRL you can't turn on fog lights at night. You have to have lights in night mode (whatever the jargon is for that) only then can you turn on fogs).
Check it out and let us know what happens.
