As a dealer tech, What you are seeing is not uncommon. Some tires work better than others but the main cause is the tires on the rear being in at the top(negative camber) and closer together at the front of the wheel than the back(toe'd in) If you look at the car from behind you will see what I mean. If you then add the further problem of a wider tire you get even more inner tire edge wear(If you are climbing on a constant slope the farther you go the higher you are so in the case of your tires there is even more lift on the outer edge of the tires)
This is pretty much an unavoidable occurance and a byproduct of an inferior design. You can mitigate the issue by buying symetrical tires(same tread on the inside and outside of the tire) and having the tires dismounted and switched side to side rather than front to back from time to time(this will keep them rolling in the same direction while giving you a fresh inner edge to chew on).
