please don't laugh but i drive peugouts. yes, i know all the jokes but frankly they are GREAT rear wheel cars. unfortunately, they stop selling in usa in '92. i've had six during the past 10 years, each has gone past 150k. i've got 2 wagons now but both have 125k+ miles so i'm looking for my next ride.
i found a automatic/sunroof/leather 1999 9-3 w/51k for $9k. 2nd owner, bought from saab dealer who purchased extended warranty which is good till 75k and/or may 2004.
i've never driven a saab (i borrowed a 900 15 years again and i found it sluggish). what should i be on the lookout for?
what is the reputation of the 1999 9-3?
where are the warts? automatic trans? turbo headaches? engine woes? gaskets/water pumps? electricals? a/c-heater? suspension?
i'm in nyc. anyone recommend a truly reliable mechanic?
i figure if i can keep a peugie on the road all these years then a saab should be doable.
thanks in advance
be well
rob
