1) With the sunroof open, the black track that the sunroof slides on/in is pretty obvious. This track has some grease in it to provide lubrication. The grease in my 1998 900SET became pretty dry and nasty looking, so I removed the old grease with a popsicle stick and cleaned the trck with a clean cloth. Then I applied new synthetic grease (Super-Lube). This helped lots.
2) There are certainly sunroof parts that can be mis-aligned or worn and need to be replaced. So if applying new grease to the track doesn't fix the problem, then it is off to the local dealer or independent garage for more extensive repairs.
