Hmmm, why are saabs harder on oil then other cars, yes I know the turbo puts additional thermal loads on engine oil. I do agree that the use of synthetic is pretty much mandatory. I suppose in an Atlanta summer for a modified car, perhaps a thicker oil may be beneficial, but I though Saab's had pretty decently sized oil coolers and pretty robust cooling systems. Even with MBC usage, unless you are running on the track, you can't really use max boost for any extended periods of time. We shall see. I use 10W30 M1 in the summer and 5W30 in the winter. I also do a bit of trailer towing and that is pretty damn hard on the car (50% higher fuel consumption). I'd be interested to see some oil analysis results on Saabs vs other cars. Is there anywhere I can find those on the we or on this site??
Thx
Mark
