My 2000 Viggen will not hit the yellow/red transition line not matter what I do. I've experimented flooring it from low rpm's in top gear, thinking that's the most torque demanding. I've watched the gauge as I spool it up to redline through 2nd & 3rd at WOT. I run the best fuel I can get. The thing takes off like a rocket but that gauge never gets past 90% yellow.
From other posts it seems the gauge acually registers intake air volume, not boost. Anyway search the bb and you'll find MANY comments same as yours. Enjoy the car and don't worry about what the gauge says.
