I've got two classic 900's (a '94 turbo convertible and a base '90 900) in addition to the '00 9-3SE. I absolutely will always love the old 900's. So, if you like it get it. That particular car is somewhat rare, although rarity and SAAB don't equal great re-sale $$....so don't overpay for it....I would think around $10K would be a good starting point.

Like MO said...it is not an SPG. Just has the body cladding and wheels of one. True SPG's were only 3-door hatchbacks that also included more HP and a stiffer suspension.

Things to look for are a headgasket job done at some point and make sure the trans doesn't whine in any of the gears (usually starts in 5th and works back). Those are the two biggest ($$) problem areas with old 900's.
Have it checked out by a good SAAB mechanic before purchase.
