The first round of upgrades is available through Hirsch Tuning and Abbott Racing. Modest increase to 230 hp/243ft-lb torque. BSR and Maptun (Swedish tuners) are currently developing the T8 upgrade; with those tuners you should expect to see hp in the range of 250-260hp and 270 ft-lb (This is what I'm waiting for). Abbott should have a better ECU in winter as well. Check out:

http://www.engstrom.net (US dist. for BSR) or http://www.genuinesaab.com (also dist. for BSR)
http://www.maptun.com, dist in US by group9performance
http://www.abbottracing.com/2003/tuning/n9-3/engine/n9-3_eng_mgnt.htm
http://www.hirsch-performance.ch/motor_e.htm

Hirsch Tuning is a recognized Saab tuner by Saab in Europe but is expensive.

2003 9-3 SS Arc 6sp with Sport Suspension and custom audio install:

Alpine Head Unit 9813 with XM module (XM rules) (gave up 6-CD changer)
Front speakers: Boston Acoustics Pro-Series 6.5 component speakers
Rear speakers: Boston Acoustics NX-97s
Custom sub enclosure in right-side opening in trunk: JL Audio 10" 10W3v2
JL 500/5 amp: 100WX2 Front, 25x2 Back, 250 Sub (All RMS ratings, unlike the peak 300 watt rating for the whole stock stereo)

I now realize that the stock stereo is just a boom-box on steroids.
