I believe I'm suffering from the same two issues with my 2002 9-3 SE.
First, I hear a squeaking noise when I'm driving with the ACC on. It didn't do it during the warmer summer months, but now with the CT weather getting colder it's squeaking most of the time. If I press OFF on the ACC, the sound immediately stops. It happens whether or not A/C is running or in the ECON position. The intensity of the sound actually increases as I press the brakes, but the sound will also persist when not braking at all. Of course the dealer doesn't know what I'm talking about and 3 times now the car won't produce the sound by the time I get to the dealer and take the mechanic for a drive. They replaced the ACC computer which had nothing to do with the issue. 5 minutes up the road and it was squeaking again. By the way, the sound seems to come from the left side of the dashboard, inside the vents.
I was trying to find other postings online and I did find this scenario, though it relates to another car brand. "It may be the AC/Water pump belt. Specifically, the AC compressor pulley and belt. Tighten the AC compressor belt." I also found a posting that said "it's the heater fan motor bearings." I haven't discussed these possibilities with a mechanic yet so I don't know if they shed any light on my problem.
Hopefully we can correspond on this board or by email (natehowe@hotmail.com) to further discuss what the symptoms are and what the mechanics are telling us.
The creaking you mentioned also sounds like my car. When I'm pulling into a parking space and turning the front wheels either left or right, I hear a creaking sound from the front of the car. I haven't even addressed this on with the dealer yet. Any ideas what the cause is? Is there any risk to the car losing steering control?
