I have 3.5mm ID silicone vacuum hoses on my 1998 900SET. They work very well. The Saab original vacuum hoses were 4mm ID and a vey thin wall, cheap rubber material (except the hose to the Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP)sensor was black silicon from the factory).
I chose 3.5 mm ID silicone because it hasd a much heavier wall thickness than the 4mm ID silicone hose. The 3.5 mm stretches enough to fit fine.
I bought mine through http://www.hosetechniques.com. It took about 10 feet to repalce the vacuum hoses, so I bought 15 feet to be safe.
