You might want to double-check your receipt & dipstick, as the 9³SS should take 6L (6.3qts) of oil. Also, the filter should be Saab's new "replaceable media" rather than the traditional spin-on can.
Since oil protection is provided by a combination of both viscosity & anti-wear additives, you might consider using either M1 0W-40 (more viscosity) or Saab's OE 0W-30 (more additives) from now on. I don't think M1 0W-30 is a bad choice, but you're not getting as much protection as you should. If you're going to use an oil which puts you in a position of not meeting the manual's recommendations (like you are now), then you might as well use M1 15W-50 or Delvac 1 5W-40 & get the best protection possible.
