or, alternatively, "As My Saab Turns" because this really is turning into a soap opera.
The car: '99 9-3 base auto, 71k, CPO. I brought it in for struts and noisy AC when AC is on. Struts replaced and AC compressor/dryer replaced. Then car is noisy, like a bearing, all the time, whether AC is on or not. I complain. They order second compressor, tell me to wait to see if the first one "breaks in". It doesn't. Yesterday new compressor put in. Bearing noise gone. Good. Turn AC on. It sounds exactly the same as it did when the tech rode with me and said "sounds like you've got a bad bearing" OVER A MONTH AGO. Sheeesh!!!!
Deep breath. I will give this compressor some time to break-in a little, since I suppose it IS a new part. Luckily it will be sort-of warm here (80) over the weekend so I'll give it a workout.
I know these ACs are noisy, but come on. WHen the clutch engages it sounds like some little man is under my hood clapping two pieces of steel together.
