If you want to try a simple, cheap option first, think about this. You can always go after the motor or lift mechanism in the door later. Some people have disassembled the window switch module (from between front seats, not the rear door mounted ones, right?) and essentially cleaned the contacts, and posted their successful experience. Not a complicated task, but one I have not had to do myself, yet. Given its location, the module is a target for all kinds of flotsam, falling objects, body parts, crumbs, soft drinks, coffee with sugar, or you name it. Wiring diagram may not be what you want. While I am not sure about the 9-3 per se, many other cars now effectuate the controls for power windows via integrated circuits in the switches, doors and central control with a single bus for the digital messages. The unit from Saab is not cheap. If it is not working, a cleaning is worth a try before you start looking for replacements or paying a shop rate. If you try it, let us know how you made out.
