I had the Michelin Arctic Alpins before, then the Gislaveds, and how the Nokians. I don't have much time on the Nokians yet but from the research I had done, they seem equivalent to the Gislaveds. For dry roads, the Nokian Hakka 2 is less like a marshmallow laterally but still smooth. Apparently, the Hakka 2 is slightly better than the Nordfrost 3 if you're studding. If you're not studding, the Gislaved SoftFrost apparently does a better job than the Nokian Hakka Q.
If you're not studding, the Michelin Arctic Alpin did a good job with the ice but didn't last long and I had to consistently go slower in deeper snow than with the Gislaveds.
