Even the Arc loaner with a more powerful engine was not that inspiring in auto mode. I assume this has to do with the programming of the automatic, and is based on a desire for maximum fuel efficiency. They should really offer an option in the programmable features of the car to modify the setting for performance mode or economy mode and perhaps a compromise somewhere in between. I'm of course talking out my a$$ because I don't even know if an automatic's shift behavior can be changed easily with software, but I'm betting so with all the computerization that is used in modern vehicles.
As I said on a previous post about my experiences (it was the new convertible and despite the lack of gitty-up-and-go that my Viggen has, it's a great car) if I were to buy something in the 9-3SS line it would have to be a manual, and that sux because I do get sick of rowing the gears in Atlanta traffic.
Is the 9-5 auto any better? Anyone on this board know?
