:(
Backing out of a friend's curved driveway, I grazed along the cobble stone border.
Basically maybe 7-8 inches of curb rash around the edge, and since these wheels stick out far, even one of the spokes got some rash. Also, my tires had that "rim protector" bulge. About an inch of it seems to have been torn off. Is that a safety issue? Now it just looks like a normal tire in that spot, the rim protector is gone.
Do I need to get the whole wheel refinished, or can a good place just fix the damaged spot and blend it? I'm on Long Island, I heard there was some well known wheel repair place on LI, I forget what its called. A whole new rim goes for about $225 from Taliaferro I think, so I was wondering what refinishing usually costs.
Thanks for any advice guys,
Alex, who never shoulda went out last night. :(
