I found a 2001 Black/Black 3-door Viggen coupe (off lease) at a local dealer and have a couple questions regarding it.

-I test drove it for about 30 minuted and discovered a bassy, vibrating sound when you nailed the accelerator in 2nd or 3rd around 3k rpms. After politely disagreeing, the salesman and the Tech took the car out and heard the noise also. They said that it's probably a pulley (??) that's causing the noise...but nothing serious. Any ideas? Other than that, everything was tight.

-The salesman also told me that the struts rarely need to be replaced on 9-3s and only sometimes on 9-5s...is this true? At this mileage...assuming everything is original (rotors felt newish)...is there anything that will need to be replaced soon or at the recommended 60k mile inspection??

-The dealer replaced the rims and tires when they received it also.

-He also said that there was a 4-year, up-to 100k mile extra care warranty available for around $1600. This seems like a good deal to me seeing as how i only drive 15k miles a year. The SID would also be replaced free of charge. Any experience with this warranty option?

-They have it advertised for $22k. I assume that they'd fix the vibration before selling anyway. Just to get a feeling on price, I asked if he thought $22k WITH the warranty would be a fair offer. He said he believed so but wouldnt know until I made a serious offer and he presented it to the owners (who are offsite at their main dealership). I still think i might be able to knock some more off of that judging by his reaction. What do you think is a fair asking price given the current market conditions?? (I understand that their price is lower than most Viggens in the classifieds section)

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated...

Thanks
