I have a 2001 SE which I am leaning toward buying when it comes off lease next month. I drove an unmodified Viggen on Sunday, and liked the tighter steering feel: it felt like there was less play in the steering wheel before the car responded, and it felt steadier and more stuck to the road, even traveling straight on the highway.
How much of that tighter feel is the lower profile wide tires, how much is in the lower springs and stiffer shocks?
Is the basic steering mechanism the same on both cars?
What are some reasonably priced steps I could take with my tires and suspension to tighten up the feel and improve handling a bit?
