Hey Jeff,

I pulled a door panel looking for a rattle and was surprised at the "cheapness" of the mechanics that control the door latching and locking - essentially a bunch of plastic as you found. I'd try a junk yard as the dealer parts will likely cause pain.

My Viggen was in for service recently and one of the side skirt jack point plastic covers went missing. Keep in mind we're talking about a 4"x5" piece of unpainted plastic. I figured I'd buy it and just replace it myself until I found that the cost was . . . $56 + painting. Fortunately the service manager noticed that the one on the other side was also defective and likely to fall off so is doing a warranty replacement on both. Parts are frickin' expensive.
