I have a 2001 Viggen.
At my 10K and 20K checkups I complained of a bushing that "honks" when going over bumps. More recently I had noticed that whenever I backed out of my driveway in the morning I would hear a very large clunk. When I described the "CLUNK" at the 30K checkup I couldn't even finish the description when my service manager (kudos to Jerry Adair at Jim Ellis - Peachtree Ind., Atlanta) finished it for me.
I don't have the work order here but if you like I can describe everything they fixed when I get home tonight - it was extensive. Seems like they replaced a strut mount and the strut as well as the honking bushing. This was probably two different issues but all is fixed now.
The front-end of the car is much more solid now, and for whatever reason clutch engagement in 1st and reverse (essentially from a standstill) is much easier and smoother. I can't explain the clutch being easier from this fix but perhaps someone else can. I didn't know how screwed up it was until I drove the car fixed. It's great now.
This should be a warranty fix for you.
