I brought in my car for 40K service today. The service guy gave me a 04' 9-3 SS Arc as a loaner car. I thought that's nice (even though the headlight washers were downgraded).

I have a 01' base 9-3. I had never testdrove the new 9-3. I found that its leather is better but the driver seat is not as comfortable as mine. The car has less turbo lag but I found that it entered the middle of turbo gauge more. Maybe it is due to larger turbo/more horsepower (I had never tried the old 9-3 SE. Maybe it is the same as the new Arc/Vector). The new one is a nice car but I still want to keep my old car. Maybe I wait for the sport hatch. Anyway, I am not trying to talk about the performance of the car.

When I left my office today, I could not release the handbrake. I lifted it and shaked it for 10-15 mins (including some time to look at the owner's manual). The handbrake just kept going up (I think the handbrake is at 60 degree angle now). I called the service guy and he told me keep trying. My co-work suggested me to put the car in reverse. I tried it and give it some gas but the car didn't move a single inch.

I ended up having a ride with my co-worker and let the dealer/roadside assistance people get the loaner car back tomorrow (I hope it won't get towed by my company tonight).

I heard some people with a 03' Sport Sedan got the same problem but I don't expect a 04' got this problem....I was liked an idiot in the parking lot...
