You can upgrade to the stock Viggen BPV for similar money to the Stock Bosch 9-3 around $50.00. The Viggen BPV will hold boost up to (i'm told) 20psi without a problem so that is a good choice if you want to keep it cheap. It is still a diaphragm model which can leak and ulitmately go bad. The aftermarket BPV are made of billet aluminum and has a metal piston for better clamping power and are servicable which means it will never need to be replaced. If you go through your stock Bosch valve and up replacing one more in the life of your car, your cost are similar to an aftermarket Metal BPV.
If you begin to up your boost, it will stress the BPV and possibly shorten the life of a diaphragm BPV, therefore I think better to be on the safeside and go metal now instead of possibly replacing a few in the future.
