You need 2 key shafts

The key shaft includes the rubber frame that fits around the remote. (I think that's what you're referring to as the grip case. It's attached to the old key that doesn't fit your car.)
The new key shaft, before programming, will turn the ignition lock but the car will not start.
The remote itself is about the size of a stack of three nickels. That's what you'll take out of the old all-in-one and install in the new key shaft.
I understand that up to four remotes and keys can be prgrammed for each car. That means you can get them to program the new ones and the old ones at the same time, so that the old ones can be used as spares.
All four (yes, ALL FOUR) need to be programmed at the same time, so haul them all over ot the dealer. I'd also suggest putting new batteries in all of them. For some reason, in my experience, programming them seems to take more power than using them after they're programmed.
(By the way, of course, they really not prgramming the remotes, though it's convenient to describe it that way. They hook up the TECH II and put the car in a mode where it listens to the signal put out by each remote and accepts that signal as valid for the particular car. As I understand it, the security chip in the key, which prevents unuthorized keys from starting the engine, is programmed at the same time.
I've seen lots of these integrated remotes on eBAY, so if numbers are limited right now, wait awhile. Don't everyone kill themselves bidding for the same doggone thing.
Here's a few more of my recent posts on this key business.
Regards,
Dave
