You're right that the European blinkers don't have the reverse light socket, but a Dremel tool can fix that. The hole is there, as are the plastic moldings that lock the socket in place, but plastic is molded over the hole. You can just cut it out with a Dremel tool in 5 minutes or so. They look much nicer than the US ones with the reflector popped out (I've had both), but whether or not it's worth the price is up to you.
The E-Code headlights have a very sharp horizontal cutoff, and the beam bends to the right, so you don't blind oncoming drivers. They're also brighter than the US lenses, but I notice the pattern change the most. You'll also lose the small window on top of the lens where you can see the bubble level on the reflector, but E-Code headlights can be aimed visually, thanks to that horizontal cutoff, so it's not a big deal.
Unless your DI cassette is going out, don't worry about buying a new one.
