I was severely rear ended, just over a year ago.
The seat rails bent. That takes a of energy. So there was impact energy absorption there. After, the seat rocked on the rails. If the vehicle is totaled, having the seats or rails completely damage free would not be an objective.
The ACC ended up in the rear seat and the radio was left hanging on its wires. These had never been removed before. They are not held in with fasteners, but snap in like lego. This is design feature common to many vehicle makes. So I assume that this it not a risk limited to Saabs. Someone seated in the back center position would be at great risk.
The radar detecton stuck on the glass, also went ballistic.
