The Infinity Kappa 32.5 CF's are 3.5" and have an external crossover network.) Other brands will only have a single tiny bi-polar electrolytic capacitor.) That is a big improvement. And if you want to, you can modify the X-ver by bypassing the electrolytics with high quality film caps. This will vastly improve the focus and imaging. Vocals will be very much better. So the modified X-over sounds much better, and the 32.5's with the stock X-over is vay better than the oem dash speaker.
The 3.5" speaker in my 03 9-5 Aero was a paper cone, single element. It really looses information. Yes, a nice mellow sound, but it sucks. I find that with the 32.5CF's that the electronics are extremely good. So the speakers were the weak link. Sometimes when you change a system over to very revealing speakers, you become aware of the imperfections of the source material and electronics. No so with the Harmon Kardon(sp?) gear. I don't know what electronics you have. The speakers that I replaced were HK branded, so this was not totally Saab's choice. But I am disappointed that HK would muffle the system this way.
I found my speakers for $50US plus shipping on ebay. Yes, modifying the X-over might void the warranty, but its only $50! The modified X-over will cause any problems.
You do not want to have comparable tweeters in the rear speakers. That will confuse the sound stage. You it might 'sound' impressive, but the result will not be as good.
I would discourage you from doing a 'component' system where there are tweeters in the dash and mid+base in the doors. Yes the quality of the components is good. But you really need the mid+tweeter in the same location. Spliting them will confuse the sound stage, and at the mid-tweeter crossover point, the phasing will be a mess.
