Presumed seat heater failure Posted by Ryan [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I am aware of the automatic setting on the seatwarmer. I am relativelly convinced that I have a failed warmer on the driver side due to the fact that, even when placing my heater to the "HI" (maximum heat) setting, I do not get heat to my seat. This has been tested for 1/2 hour+ drives. I question if I may have a short, because it will very periodically begin to warm for a minute or less. This does not seem to occur in the passanger or rear seats, as when I have passengers, their seats warm quickly. This raises some questions for testing before taking to the dealer:
1. Does each seat heater have its own fuse? If yes, if the fuse is blown, will the switch light continue to glow when put to the "on" position?
2. Can I program the seatwarmer to MANUAL on my own? If yes, what are the steps to do this?
I also presume a problem because earlier this season, and throughout the previous two years, I have never had a problem with the driver-side seat heater.
Thanks in advance,
Ryan
