Hey, thanks for all the input guys... I guess my use of "cheap" wasn't quite accurate.. The shocks/strut inserts on my 131k 1995 900SE(V6) are original :(
ARHsaab - you're right. it makes sense to get new strut inserts/shocks, maybe even bushings and adding a more tout stabilizer bar too, eh? At least I can say that I have new upper strut mounts.
dip - thanks for the lead, I'll be looking into them.
I might be asking for a flame here, but any thoughts on hacking off 1/2 - 3/4 ring from the existing springs? What ill affects, if any, would that have on things? Lower, yes, higher spring rate, maybe?, cheap (oops, used it again), why not. What about the little spring compressor/expander sets you can buy at the local Autozone? Would any self-respecting Saab owner ever fess up to using (or thinking about) these?
