Yesterday, after a hot soak of about 20 min. (just off a stop-and-go freeway run), my '99 9-3 SE (70K miles) ran very roughly after startup, exibiting symptoms of fouled plugs and/or a bad injector. It cleared after several revs to 3000+ , but even then wanted to die at idle. After feathering the gas to keep it running, it eventually smoothed out.
ACC was on (which I turned off as this thing was happening), and it was about 95 degrees air temp outside (the hottest day I have had the car in). Has NGK plugs w/ less than 2000 mi., and I ran Redline injector cleaner through it about two months ago. I plan on a dose of this at next fillup, but is there anything I could look for in the meantime?
The weather has cooled since then, and I have not had a re-occurance. Any issues with fuel evaporation in the F.I. system in hot conditions? Didn't see anything on the board about it. How about a failing CPS or DI? I have a spare DI in my trunk, so I am ready for that if it happens.
