5v leaves the Engine Control Module and then splits in the harness on the 900 and early 9-3s(I think all t-5 but I am not sure, J-36?) this connection goes bad and drops the 5v reference which in turn drops the signal returning to the ECM which gives you O2 codes and/or air/fuel max value too lean codes. I find the crimp in the harness, cut it out and solder and shrinktube the connection. While I am in there I usually hit the big bunch of grounds at the same time.
If you move the cruise box and then disconnect and pull the harness through the firewall it makes it alot easier.
T-7 went to separate power feeds for both sensors, Go figure.
