95 9k on GM watch...... Posted by Mike Lynch [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Considering a 99 9-3, Mike in VT, Tue, 26 Oct 2004 10:34:14 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
GM bought a 50% interest in Saab in 1990. That didn't change until after 1999, in 2000 when the aquired the whole 100%. GM brings money and quality to Saab. Money in the form of a remodeled and retooled Trollhattan plant in 1998 for the 9-5, and quality as in the latest in ISO standards and zero defect assembly processes. I don't like the way GM makes their domestics, but GM is doing well in the quality arena, as are Saabs under their watch.
$9,800 ain't too bad. I sold a 1999 9-3SE with 108k for $8k here off my lot. You said all the magic words, service history, excellent condition, better all that than a super low price on a mystery car. I doubt that such a car would bring a much as $7,500 in trade, particularly being a stick, so there may be some flexibility in the $9,800 asking price. Offer 'em $7,500 and meet somewhere in the middle
I like the SE stuff, but a non-SE is OK too for the right price. Make sure the HVAC controls work correctly on a non-SE, that's the only Achilles heal on any of them as per the poster, 99 9-3 HOT, remarks
