Well I have owned a few saabs in my time. MOst recently a 1995 9000 aero, great car, saved my life! I have wanted a 99 Viggen since the day it was unveiled. However, they have always been out fo my price range :( Recently I stumbled across a good deal on one. Its a 99 with 77,000 miles. A few issues though
1. Gentleman told me it was bought at an auction and had to have the door replaced and some repainting done. This was about 40,000 miles ago. I didnt notice any issues in the paint until the last minute...go figure...Around the seal of the back window the paint is starting to chip a bit. It almost seems as if they didnt lift the rubber to paint or just painted over....is this something I shoudl really worry about? Really expensive to get fixed up? Also the dorr where it closes is a bit chipped, nothign out of the ordinary though.
2. Lots of wind noise and some creaking from the trunk...Always owning saabs I knwo they are not quiet, is thi snormal for the viggen. Tire seem loud but i guesss its just the tires..so3's with alot of tread gone.
3. Car shakes alot when driven. ALignment seems alright, I mean the car seems to go straight fine, its smooth on the highway..just more any speed under it. Honestly seems like a bent rim to me, I know these viggen rims can suck, what do you guys think?
Oh yah new brakes, new clutch and it screws like hell!
As always thanks saabnet, always a great resource :)
