If that was the original DI at 129K, it had an exceptional and long life. Red DIs last very well on average, at least compared to the heart attack prone black DIs. Got old DI? - read its date code on the sticker.
Alternate plugs are not good becuase so many, expecially things like Bosch platinums, will foul in the turbo application and the spark will track to ground through the carbon on the insulator at higher boost levels and the boost level at which this occurs will get lower. Alternate plugs can have such adverse problems but will not typically hurt the DI a all. Yes, they must be a resistor type. If your current plug seems to run well, after it has been in use for a while, pull the plugs and read them. Do after some longer distance running, not short trips in town, if the plugs are clean, leave them in. If black, toss them. If dark brown, keep an eye on them. If white or light tan, they are running hot enough to burn off the carbon that gets there from cold starts and on boost runs.
