9-3 Remote Range Problem

I just bought a Saab Certified '01 9-3CV. Several postings on this board have discussed the often extremely limited range of the keyless remote - and my car could be a poster child for this problem. There was a reference to an updated antenna which increases the range and should be replaceable under warranty (I still have 9 mos. left on the original 4-yr warranty). However, my dealer says he has never heard of it and claims that everything is fine (the fact that it recognizes the code is good enough,he claims..... the non-existent range is not an issue). He made some vague comments about unavoidable inteference from other RF signals in the air, and even pointed to the Onstar antenna (now just a dummy) as if to imply that the car was fully 'antenna-loaded'!!

Anyone with any luck in successfully pushing this issue through with their dealer and getting corrective action?
