I took the ashtray recess out (it pulls out). I attached the Roady bracket to the ashtray recess using a threaded bolt just long enough for the bracket to flush fit. I used 2 small metal plates (inside/outside) in back of the recess for strength. I ran the power wire and modulator wire through another drilled hole. I found a female hot/ground plug near the back of the cigarette lighter (purpose?) and used it for power. It is unswitched. The FM modulator was attached to the flat, black metal brace you see when you remove the passenger kick panel. It gets hot and needs room. You need to buy an antenna adapter for the head unit because the connector is different. I got mine from Circuit City. The XM signal is transmitted as an FM signal using 1 of 3 frequencies on the modulator. Your radio steering controls are unaffected. The shifter sometimes hits the XM Roady, but not often. Works great.
