remove the VAC line at the WGA
drive with a gentle throttle and see what boost you can make (only for T5s) if you get to aroudn 40% thru red you will get fuel cuts that are more alarming than anything
if you can make lots of boost, the solenoid would appear to be the problem, borrow someones to test, you can get a $olenoid valve or a MBC+A (if you have a low restriction exhaust or tune to lower boost levels then max)
if no boost, then could be a medium leak in a pressurized hose, coupling or IC etc (big leak = zero boost)
or the BPV is leaking - check its VAC line for damage, if VAC line good, remove the return hose or pipe and feel if the valve is open at idle, if not, probably bad, remove VAC line and confirm that there is vac pressure/flow there
