Below is a picture of what an engine can look like after 16K miles (from brand new) with 3-5 min of driving on each start up.
And this is Los Angeles climate, not a too rainy and cold climate.
At every coldstart you have a fair amount of condensation water in the engine and exhaust system (that's all the water you see coming out the tail pipe of the car in front of you).
If you don't run the car/engine long enough, some of the water will stay in the engine oil instead of being "cooked off" by the engine heat from a long drive.
This can slowly turn the engine oil milky.
The other thing I strongly suggest you to do is to have the cylinder head bolts retorqued, since all 4 cyl Saabs between 97 and 2001 have loose head bolts from factory.
