Initially, the dealer did say the same thing. My service rep called Saab for clarification (and I guess permission), Saab said replace it all under warranty. I suspect only one of the parts started the the problem, but all need to be replaced to properly fix it.
My argument was if the clutch doesn't slip, then it's not "worn" so it must be broken... I would extend the logic to something like brake pads with the scenario where the pad material perhaps broke free from the metal backing. Even if the pad was half worn down before it broke, they should have to replace both wheel's pads and rotors under warranty...
