On the NG900 engine they use a steel pulley as tensioner that seems to last forever. On the 9-3/9-5 they have started to use a plastic pulley similar but a little bit bigger than the "center pulley" (which is usually removed).
That plastic tensioner pulley is ok but still meet the same noisy faith like its smaller brother and it is wise to have it replaced at 60K intervals together with the serpentin belt and the very small ribbed pulley.
