G'Day from Australia - I've a 99 Black 3 dr VIGGEN which is coming up for it's 85K service (about 50K miles). Thought I'd share some thoughts on my experience with the car. I had a late series 900SE Talladega before which was v civilised but a bit nice

The Good

(1)It's a brilliant with a goatee and black polo neck sweater
(2)What other car can you turn right without turning the steering wheel
(3)It blasts off all those vile German Cars except M BM's and proper Porsches - (Why on earth have you Yanks bought that hideous Cayenne ??)
(4)The first words I said to my VIGGEN were "Whoa Horsey" - Beat That!
(5) Some goon smacked his truck into the back as I braked to avoid a clown - the car was fine and so was I - there's a big steel girder in the boot

The Bad

(1)It's doesn't burn off Aussie V8's - including the Monaro otherwise known as the Pontiac GTO which is a brilliant car - even the Poms like it
(2)I had a turbo go out of warranty but SAAB fixed it for free - perhaps not so Bad - there was an earlier pre-emptive engine mod to watch out for
(3)It's just started drinking coolant - head gasket ? hoses ? pump ? argh

The Ugly

(1)Eats front tyres - on my 4th set 2nd on the back
(2)Braking under speed not entirely convincing - esp. holding speed on a steep incline - stopping OK just get very disconcerting shake in the steering. I've had the front discs re-ground a couple of times but doesn't work for long - Solutions anyone ??

If you ever get the chance to own one you'll find it has some massive flaws - but on the other hand it's enormous, enormous fun, built like a brick outhouse and effortlessly chews up long distances at high speed
