Often manufacturers will repurchase a vehicle from a customer before the customer goes Lemon Law. This saves the manufacturer from having to resell the vehicle as a lemon, which is a form of "branded title", kinda' like a "salvage" title. But often in many states even a consumer satisfaction repurchase will be given a branded titlt, so you need to find out if the vehicle will have a branded title. If it does this affects the value 20-50%, and closer to 50% than 20%. The dealer selling it to you will tell you 20% less, but when buying a salvage or lemon law car the dealer sometimes pays 50% less and it's that 30% difference that makes salvage/lemon vehicles lucrative.

Are you purchasing it from a Saab dealer? Is the vehicle Certified, aka CPO ? I have a perfectly fine 2003 9-3SE Convertible advertised here on SaabNet for $31,900, also with 15k miles, and it is CPO. So $26k for one a year older with service issues, ain't all that great. If it's a branded title, it's way too much, IMO.

And once you get the value straightened out, I myself, am not particularly adverse to lemons or repurchases. I know how to read a service history to see how serious the problems were and whether they've been really fixed and I know how upset people can get about their new cars needing multiple trips to the dealer, often the owner is just spooked and "heightened sensitiviy" kicks in and the car will never be right for them.

For me, once the problem has been accurately diagnosed and repaired, it should stay fixed, it's just a machine.
