Installed the Hands-Free for my Samsung SCH-a530 yesterday (non-Onstar equipped car). The wiring harness is needed for the stereo interface and imbedded microphone.
Unfortunately I found out that my car did not have the microphone or connection to the stereo after I wired the Samsung hands-free kit so I spent some more time reattaching my spliced wires and installing the microphone and speaker. A 2001 Viggen should have the microphone in the car already (part of Onstar). I did some searching on the 9-5 board before installing and found some good advice (figured it would be the same type of procedures). I’ve read about problems using Onstar and cell phones, but I think the new wiring harness cures the problem. Called home to test out the installation and the message was excellent.
