I am 1k shy of 60k and it's major service. I have contacted a dealer and indy and both of them do not flush the engine nor tranny. I really want to change it to synthetic motor oil and tranny fluid, so what's the best way to do this change over?
When I searched, some says it's OK for me to just change the motor oil to synthetic and never look back except for changing the filter and top off for the first and/or second cycle of oil change due to increased oil consumption, but others recommended the engine flush (a guy at the dealership didn't even recommend to change to synthetic-but it's not his car)
How about tranny? I have an automatic transmission. Can I just fill up with synthetic transmission fluid at the 60k service? Or do I need to use a BG tranny flush system? Closest one is Japanese car garage and they won't do one for Saab... Next closest one is Chvy dealership... Since they are now all GM and all service should be done by any "GM Goodwrench" (IMO) do you think they can do it? Or do I have to drive miles and miles to go to indy transmission shop?
