Mine's been pretty much trouble free. A couple of little things.
On a grander scale, I'd say that the 9-5 and the new 9-3 ride and handle much better. They're more predictable and more comfortable. Get ready for possible pulling to one side or the other on weird roads, a choppy ride, and some funky traction steer when trying to accelerate aggressively with less than perfect tires and/or less than perfect conditions. I DO love my 9-3 however.
That being said; the 9-3 you speak of is probably the best looking and most practical Saab you can get today IMHO. I like the engine (even the base) better than the current 9-3's engine too.
