I ran a bead around the female side of the 2 flared joints (one in the front of the car that connects to the flex pipe and the other just above the rear axle).

I'd buy a set of clamps just to be safe. They were about $10 and I'm glad I bought them since one of the old bolts snapped as I was removing the stock exhaust. I sprayed liquid wrench on the bolts a few days before hand (did this twice) to make it easy to remove the old clamps.

I was able to do the whole thing in my driveway with the rear of the car on ramps. At one point I jacked up the driver's side rear of the car to let the left rear suspension drop so that I could get the stock system out without having to cut the front pipe out of the car. I now have the stock system intact in my garage should I choose to put it back in the car.

My other suggestion would be to keep everything loose and keep aligning and adjusting until you get the pipe centered in the opening of the rear valance before you do your final tightening down of all 3 clamps.

I have seen so many sport exhaust systems that are don't come out of the rear valance centered, most seem to be too close to the passenger's side of the opening. I was able to get mine to come out perfectly centered.
