Replace DI Cassette Cable Too?

I was leaving the office on Friday and my fears of DI failure were realized as the car didn't start. Went back later and didn't fire up so waited until Saturday, returned, replaced spark plugs and not only did it not start, but the DI started to smoke which was the sign I needed (a bit of a relief it wasn't something more serious. I will order the new T-5 (red) tomorrow from eeuroparts.com. Shall I also replace the cable?
As I needed the plugs to try on Saturday (and the local parts store didn't have the NKG plugs, I used Champion Copper Plus 418/RC9YCN4. These are supposed to be OEM replacement. I have seen messages on here to only use the NGK plugs. However, I also think that Champion must meet the specs from SAAB if they advertise OEM replacement, shouldn't they?
I don't want to damage the new DIC with Champion plugs...
