If you don't have a key and more importantly, a second remote and you permanently lose the only remote, you'll have to buy a $1,200ish "twice computer" to re-remote/key the car! Seriously, there's no way to crack the computer code of the security system without at least one working remote and you have to replace the whole security computer.
Unless your willing to bust the seat back locks you're probably SOL until you get a key made.
You can get another key with the seperate remote "banana" like came in 2000 or the later one piece key works for 2000's like on current 9-5's or 9-3's from 2001, 2002 and 2003 Verts. The disadvantage of the later all in one key is a more limited range for the remote.
The key has to be cut by the factory, but any remote can be programmed to any car, within a model and year range, if you have one functioning remote and the all in one accepts any key shaft, so many folks get addtional Saab remotes on Ebay.
