2001 Viggen, 26,889 miles, at 75mph on I-95S, right at the route 22 interchange, 2 miles north of the Maryland House. At 5:50p, last Sat. Major bummer since I was trying to get to Stafford, VA, just south of Quantico, so my we could drop off the youngun with the sister-in-law and catch the 8:40a flight to Ft. Myers on Sunday.
No warning, no nuthin, hummin along happy as a clam, thinkin about fresh grouper, and the loud pedal just comes unplugged. Did look up at the rearview and I think I saw some black smoke, remnants of unprocessed hi-test. Oh well. Hunt Valley says they fixed it, changed faulty plugs, faulty cat, faulty dic. And the nearest rental on a Sat night was apparently BWI, so the brother-in-law pulled a 200 mile round trip to come get us. But hey, we got almost 4 hours of sleep, made the early flight, and I just got back from the pool, with a really cool water slide even. The gulf is across the 3/4 boardwalk through the mangrove swamp (we're in Naples), and it's time to get ready for dinner.
I'll post anything else about the car next week, after I get my butt back in it.
