I've never done this on a t-7. What does the car do when installed normally on a t-7? I would have thought that the car would immediately throw a CEL and go into Limp Home Mode. Granted, it wouldn't buck, but would the driver lose all power? Will Limp Home Mode just continue until the system was put back to normal with no ther ill effects to driveability, just no boost?
One other thought to test is, what would the car do if one were to unplug the harness to the bpc and drive it. On t-5 cars with BPC problems, unplugging the BPC can reduce boost and isolate the problem for them. I don't know what this would do for t-7 cars, but for folks without a MBC laying around, maybe this would serve the purpose of reducing boost, (similar to limp home mode) and stop the bucking in a pinch until they can get somewhere to have it fixed. Maybe worth a try so they don't need to spend the $ on a MBC in a pinch. Just a thought to test.
